Description
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Per pale wavy Or and Gules (Brick Red), a railway car wheel and a truck tire both affront, in chief a stylized helicopter fesswise counterchanged.

Symbolism
Brick red and yellow are the colors for Transportation.  The organizations mission, the mobilization of Army personnel and property is symbolized by representations of various modes of transportation:  a railway car wheel and a truck tire for travel by land, a helicopter for air transport and a wavy partition line for movement by water.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 21 February 1961.

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve:  On a wreath of the colors Or and Gules (Brick Red), the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the common in Lexington, Massachusetts.
